How does BBL Forever Young + Corrective work

Using intense pulsed light energy to heat targeted layers of the skin, BBL will stimulate collagen production and improve tone and texture.

When we are correcting concerns, we target pigmentation or vascular damage to help even out and brighten the overall complexion.

Importantly, BBL™ technology is the only device on the market that is proven to alter the skin’s DNA and gene expressions that are responsible for causing the signs of ageing.

Who is BBL Forever Young + Corrective for

BBL is effective for clients wanting to treat ageing/prevent ageing, pigmentation, diffused redness and capillaries. Please check our contraindications list to ensure this treatment is right for you.

How does BBL Forever Young + Corrective feel?

Discomfort level is mild to moderate dependent upon how much pigment or redness may be in the skin. It can feel quite warm, with a flicking or snapping sensation when treating pigment or redness.

We do not recommend using numbing cream (unless you have a very low pain threshold), as it can constrict blood vessels, potentially affecting the skin’s natural response during treatment.

Is there any downtime after BBL Forever Young + Corrective?

A few days of brown spots darkening which take 5-10 days to resolve but can be covered with makeup.

Downtime may include a few days of mild swelling when correcting pigment or redness. We can adjust the intensity of the treatment to your requirements to minimise downtime and swelling if desired.

How often is BBL Forever Young + Corrective recommended?

We recommend 3 treatments depending on how much pigmentation or vascularity presents on the skin. Treatments are spaced at least 4 weeks apart but can be spread out longer.

We recommend 2-3 sessions yearly for maintenance depending on concerns.

what to do before your BBL Forever Young + Corrective treatment

Apply SPF daily and avoid unprotected sun exposure, tanning beds or fake tan for 2 weeks
Active ingredients such as retinol or exfoliants should be discontinued 3 days prior to prevent irritation
Avoid blood thinners for a few days before treatment to minimize the chance of bruising (this includes alcohol)
Apply an active pigment inhibiting serum between 2-4 weeks prior, if you have Asian/olive skin (your skin therapist will advice if this is necessary for you)

what to do after your BBL Forever Young + Corrective treatment

Apply SPF daily and avoid unprotected sun exposure, tanning beds or fake tan for 2 weeks
Cold compress to reduce redness, swelling or discomfort
Avoid heat such as hot showers, saunas, spas, or exercise for 48 hours
Avoid active ingredients such a retinol or exfoliation for 5 days.
If needed, apply TR Pro (or a healing topical cream) to assist with the healing process
Do not pick or scrub the skin

Contraindications

Unprotected sun exposure within 2 weeks pre treatment
Fake tan on treatment areas within 2 weeks pre treatment
Light sensitising medications (please inform your therapist of any current medications)
History of skin cancer or precancerous lesions (must have a recent skin cancer check)
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Certain autoimmune diseases
Dark or very tanned skin types
Active cold sores
