How does HIFU work

HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy into precise depths within the skin. This controlled thermal stimulation triggers the body’s natural healing response, stimulating collagen production and tightening existing collagen fibres.

Because HIFU reaches the deeper structural layers of the skin, it creates a lifting and tightening effect not achievable with many superficial treatments.
Who is HIFU for

HIFU is ideal for clients experiencing early to moderate skin laxity who want a natural lifting effect without surgery.

How does HIFU feel?

You may feel small pulses of heat or a mild pin-prick sensation as the energy is delivered. Most clients tolerate the treatment well, and intensity can be adjusted for comfort.
Is there any downtime after HIFU?

There is little to no downtime. Some clients experience mild redness or tenderness immediately after treatment, which typically resolves within 1-2 hours.
How often is HIFU recommended?

For optimal results, treatments are often performed as a series spaced approximately 4–6 weeks apart.

Results develop gradually as collagen production increases, with improvements continuing over several months.

Contraindications

Who is HIFU not for?

  • Very little facial fat or hollow cheeks – HIFU can accentuate hollowness or create a “sucked-in” appearance in areas with minimal fat.
  • Autoimmune or connective tissue diseases
  • Haemorrhagic disorders or bleeding/clotting dysfunctions
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Active skin infection, dermatitis, or herpes in the treatment area
  • Skin prone to keloid or hypertrophic scarring
  • Pacemakers or other electrically implanted devices
  • Metal implants in the treatment area
  • Cancer or history of cancer in the treatment area
  • Significant cardiovascular conditions or recent major heart surgery
  • Poorly controlled diabetes
  • Epilepsy or seizure disorders
  • Acute illness or systemic infection
