How does Cosmelan Peel work

The treatment targets the overproduction of melanin in the skin. An in-clinic mask is applied and left on for several hours before being removed at home. This is followed by a structured homecare program to continue correcting pigmentation and regulate melanin production.
Who is Cosmelan Peel for

Ideal for clients experiencing pigmentation concerns such as melasma, sun damage or uneven skin tone. The Cosmelan Peel is the gold standard for those who cannot tolerate IPL/Laser treatments due to melasma or darker skin tones.
How does Cosmelan Peel feel?

You may experience warmth, redness and skin tightness during the initial stages. Peeling and sensitivity are common in the days following treatment.
Is there any downtime after Cosmelan Peel?

  • Days 1–3: Redness, mild irritation.
  • Days 3–7: Peeling, flaking, sensitivity.
  • Weeks 2–4: Gradual normalization; pigmentation starts to lighten.
  • 1–3 months: Full results become visible with continued maintenance and sun protection.
How often is Cosmelan Peel recommended?

You can have the Cosmelan peel as frequently as 6 months apart, although most people repeat the process every 2-3 years.

  • Discontinue harsh products: Stop retinoids, exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA), and strong active ingredients 3–5 days before treatment.
  • Hydration: Use gentle moisturizers to strengthen the skin barrier.
  • Sun Protection: Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily - avoid tanning or prolonged sun exposure for two weeks prior to treatment

Avoid:

  • Waxing, threading, or laser procedures on the treatment area 1 week prior.
  • Blood-thinning medications or supplements (if advised by your clinician).

  • Avoid heavy exercise and saunas in the first few days to reduce irritation.
